Increase your knowledge about Tax to help your clients and Boost your Confidence.
As a CPA who also services clients for bookkeeping, accounting and financial analysis, I'm often surprised that many bookkeepers think they don't need to know anything about taxes. But by learning just a few tips and tricks, you can be a hero to your clients and add value -- instead of them finding out about missed opportunities or mistakes during tax season, once it's too late.
In this session, we'll cover:
We'll also discuss assisting clients with calculating Quarterly Estimates, determining Reasonable Compensation, and maximizing the Home Office deduction. Bookkeepers are often the "first line of defense" when it comes to catching things that might be too late if clients wait to talk to their CPAs until tax-time. They also might have knowledge that could help the client that a CPA wouldn't necessarily think to bring up without the bookkeeper mentioning it at tax-time. Learning a few things about taxes can add value and allow you to charge more -- as a trusted advisor, rather than a bean-counter.
